Exhibition Almine Rech

Almine Rech announced that artists Thu-Van Tran and Joël Andrianomearisoa have been selected to participate in the 18th Lyon Biennale titled 'Passer d’un rêve à l’autre / To pass from one dream to another'. The biennale takes Robert Filliou’s Principles of Poetic Economy (1976) as a reference point and examines how artistic practices engage with economic life through labour, exchange and care. Developed across several sites in Lyon, the exhibition presents contemporary works alongside historical artworks, archival materials and objects.

The Signal

The selection places the two artists in a major international survey that situates practice within political, social and material conditions of value production. For collectors and curators it signals the artists’ growing institutional visibility in Europe and underscores Almine Rech’s focus on practices that interrogate economic structures. The biennale’s emphasis on Lyon’s commercial history offers a timely context for reassessing how art can make visible and negotiable the assumptions that underpin exchange.
