The American Academy of Arts and Letters has announced the election of 11 new members and three foreign honorary members across the departments of architecture, art, and literature. Artists Elizabeth Peyton, Joan Snyder, Alfredo Jaar, and Stephen Shore are among those selected for lifetime membership in recognition of achievement in their fields. The new members will be formally inducted in 2026 and will join the 300-member body responsible for the institution's governance and award selections.
