ARCOmadrid Closes 45th Edition With 95,000 Visitors and €195 Million Impact
The 45th edition of ARCOmadrid, organized by IFEMA MADRID, closed with 95,000 visitors and an estimated economic impact of €195 million for the city while supporting 1,475 jobs. The fair included 211 galleries from 30 countries showing work by around 1,300 artists, 40 percent of them women, and drew approximately 40,000 art professionals. Institutions including the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Fundación ARCO, the Regional Government of Madrid, IVAM, and several foundations completed acquisitions during the event.
The Signal
The results affirm ARCOmadrid’s position as a primary meeting point between European and Latin American markets for collectors and curators seeking institutional validation. Multiple awards to galleries such as Esther Schipper, Ehrhardt Flórez, and ChertLüdde, along with prizes to artists including Julia Scher and June Crespo, provide clear signals on emerging and mid-career talent that institutions are actively acquiring. The confirmed dates for the 2027 edition further allow collectors to plan participation around a recurring platform with proven acquisition activity.
