AND RESPONSIBILITIES \n \n \n Installing and de-installing artwork in galleries and storage areas \n Storing artwork safely in warehouse \n Loading/unloading trucks; moving crated/packed works throughout the galleries and warehouse \n Packing/unpacking artwork for shipment \n Assisting in preparing galleries for display/exhibition by spackling, light painting, etc. \n Assisting in framing and unframing of two dimensional artworks and mounting of three-dimensional works of art \n Assisting in making assessments concerning the safety of works and taking necessary action to secure artworks \n Assisting photographers during shoots \n May assist in the construction of new or retrofitting previously constructed crates \n Disposing of materials and unused crates in warehouse and galleries \n Assisting with special events, including acting as a viewing assistant which requires neat appearance and interaction with clients \n Performing other ad-hoc

experience

in an auction house, internationally recognized gallery, fine art shipping or museum, required \n Working knowledge of and

experience

with various packing methods suitable to a wide range of media, required \n Working knowledge of and

with installation methods suitable to a wide range of media, required \n Audio/Visual skills, preferred \n Basic electrical

skills

including wiring, preferred \n Finish carpentry skills, preferred \n \n \n EDUCATION AND TRAINING \n \n \n Bachelor of Arts preferred \n Fine Arts Background preferred \n \n \n PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES \n \n \n Ability to work professionally and responsibly with all other areas within the business \n Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. \n Punctual and proactive with excellent organizational skills \n High degree of time and resource management

with the ability to work under pressure and prioritize to meet strict deadlines \n Ability to deal effectively and efficiently with multiple tasks \n \n \n WORKING CONDITIONS \n \n Work is undertaken in our Long Island City warehouse and Park Avenue galleries \n Requires local travel between locations to install artworks \n Weekend and evening work as required \n Newly hired staff must be fully vaccinated by their start date.
