Why this role matters
You will support the Client Accounting and Private Sales teams with the day‑to‑day running of accounting operations, assisting where necessary to ensure everything runs smoothly. This is a great opportunity to gain broad exposure, from supporting month‑end activities, managing auctions through to assisting with the processing of private sale transactions. We’re looking for an enthusiastic team player with strong numerical
skills
and some corporate experience, who enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues across the business. You’ll have a good eye for detail and take pride in delivering accurate, timely work while learning about strong governance and compliance along the way. Most importantly, you’ll bring a positive attitude and a genuine desire to learn, contributing to a friendly, supportive team environment while helping to deliver an excellent service to our internal and external stakeholders.
How you'll make an impact
Client Accounting Aid Buyer registration and compliance control Liaise directly with clients and the organization to ensure effective communication on outstanding debtors Provide client invoices and statements as necessary Schedule meetings and liaising with the Specialist departments, Business Support Group, Post Sale Department, Christies Art Transport, Commercial Finance, Legal etc Issuing and processing tax refunds Reviewing Seller Charges Processing of sundry requests credits and debits and preparing for settlement Entering extended payment terms on the appropriate ledgers to ensure accurate cash-flow Assist as needed with the receipting of incoming payments Private Sale Service Centre Assist with Validating and verifying private sales transactions globally for all entities to ensure: Christie’s has the legal right to consideration Transacting with the vendor and/or buyer does not place unnecessary risk on Christie’s Any tax considerations have been vetted and approved Any contingent issues for sale or payment have been addressed The corresponding accounting entries accurately reflect the sale Support with Invoice creation of Private Sale invoices for all jurisdictions globally, ensuring you have the localised knowledge of all legal and tax
requirements
in each jurisdiction Work as a team in the PSSC inbox to ensure service standards are adhered to. Including good communications and response times Help with ensuring payment from the buyer and settlement to the seller is timely and accurate, liaising with Treasury and Payments Team to provide seamless client service What you’ll bring to
