Stedelijk Museum Restitutes Henri Matisse Painting to Heirs of Albert Stern Following Nazi-Era Sale

The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam has returned the 1920/21 painting 'Odalisque' by Henri Matisse to the legal successors of Albert Stern. The Dutch Restitutions Committee determined the work was sold under duress in 1941 to finance the Stern family's escape from the Nazi regime.
