Born in Vietnam, Danh Vo moved to Denmark as a child before establishing his career in Europe. His practice is characterized by the appropriation of historical objects, which he recontextualizes to explore the intersections of personal history, colonial legacy, and global politics.

Vo works across various media, including sculpture, installation, and photography. His signature approach often involves the physical deconstruction or relocation of artifacts, such as the fragmented components of the Statue of Liberty, to challenge established historical narratives and institutional structures.

Recent recognition includes a significant solo exhibition titled πνεῦμα (Ἔλισσα) at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, scheduled for 2026. This presentation continues his exploration of historical power structures through a curated selection of sculptures and collected objects.
