Spike Island and Hauser & Wirth have appointed Penzance-based curator Joe Lyward as the recipient of the second Engagement Fellowship for South West-based Curators for 2026–2027. Lyward will lead 'Should We Plant a Tree?', a year-long program in Bristol and Somerset designed to engage underrepresented communities and young people in long-term environmental and social proposals. The initiative is part of a three-year partnership between the two institutions running from 2025 to 2028 to support professional development in the UK arts sector.
