Kunsthaus Zürich Expands Art Programs Linking Health, Society and Participation
Kunsthaus Zürich announced on May 20, 2026, an expanded range of initiatives at the intersection of art, health and society. The museum is developing programs such as art.in for youth in crisis, created with Stiftung Children Action and PUK-Life, and workshops at Kinderspital Zürich that began in 2025 with artist Monster Chetwynd. Additional formats include Aufgeweckte Kunstgeschichten for people with dementia since 2012, Connect dance sessions for neurological conditions, and sensory tours for the visually impaired developed with Zürcher Sehhilfe.
The Signal
The strategy signals a deliberate institutional shift toward measurable social impact through sustained medical and community partnerships. Collectors and curators may view such programming as evidence of long-term audience development and relevance, while the October 2026 double exhibition of Maria Lassnig and Edvard Munch extends the same themes of body and perception into the galleries.
