Artist Dana Awartani discussed her upcoming representation of Saudi Arabia at the 2026 Venice Biennale in the inaugural episode of the ArtReview Podcast. The conversation with editor-in-chief Mark Rappolt addressed themes of cultural destruction in the Middle East and the integration of traditional Islamic crafts into contemporary practice. Awartani, who recently exhibited at the Towner and Arnolfini galleries, will debut her national pavilion project in Venice in May 2026.
