M+ and Centre Pompidou Announce Multi-Year Strategic Partnership
On May 27, 2026, M+ announced a multi-year strategic partnership with Centre Pompidou, formalizing a framework across joint curatorial research, exhibition development, co-commissions and collection exchange. The new MoU was signed on May 15, 2026, by Suhanya Raffel, Museum Director of M+, and Laurent Le Bon, President of Centre Pompidou, at M+ in Hong Kong. The collaboration includes a landmark exhibition foregrounding visual culture in France and Greater China, a series of exhibitions at M+ beginning in 2027, joint research initiatives and a four-year postdoctoral fellowship funded by the Huo Family Foundation.
The Signal
The agreement positions M+ as a key platform for sustained Asia-Europe exchange and gives collectors earlier visibility into co-curated projects and mutual loans that will expand access to works from both collections. It also creates new public platforms through co-commissioned moving-image works on the M+ Facade and Centre Pompidou sites from 2027, signaling long-term institutional commitment to transnational narratives in twentieth- and twenty-first-century art.
