Thaddaeus Ropac Presents Anselm Kiefer Nymphäum Exhibition with Opéra-Comique Concert
Thaddaeus Ropac presents the exhibition Nymphäum by Anselm Kiefer at its Paris Pantin location on 69 avenue du Général Leclerc. The show includes more than 20 new paintings that layer paint and collaged elements to reinterpret narratives from classical mythology. In collaboration with the Opéra-Comique, the gallery hosts a 45-minute concert on June 13, 2026, at 7.30pm featuring soprano Tamara Bounazou and pianist Ayano Kamei performing works by Gluck, Berg, Duparc and Poulenc.
The Signal
The recital draws directly from three Kiefer paintings dated 2022–2025. The program extends the artist's five-decade practice of fusing myth and material into a live format that may heighten collector attention to his current mythological output. Such gallery-led performances indicate a broader strategy to position large-scale paintings within experiential contexts that reinforce institutional and market narratives around established contemporary artists.
