Uffizi Galleries Announces Permanent Exhibition of 78 Russian Icons and New Research Initiatives
The Uffizi Galleries will permanently exhibit a historical collection of 78 icons on the ground floor of the grand-ducal palace, marking the first time the collection has been displayed in its entirety. The museum also announced a joint project between the Boboli Gardens and the Wilanów Museum involving 82 ancient drawings and 25 etchings. Additional research findings were released regarding the use of gilding in classical statues and the presence of black identity within the Uffizi collections.
