Artcurial Decorative Arts Sale Totals €2.9M with 80% of Lots Sold
Artcurial held its final auction of the season on December 16 and 17, 2025, dedicated to decorative arts from the 17th to the 19th century. The two sessions offered over 400 lots from several European private collections and achieved €2.9 million with more than 80 percent of lots sold. Highlights included a pair of tables by Bernard Van Risen-Burgh from the Pierre Jourdan Barry collection that reached €238,320 and a Transitional mechanical table stamped by Oeben that sold for €112,540.
The Signal
The results confirm sustained collector demand for high-quality pieces with documented provenances in the European decorative arts market. Strong prices for Venetian porcelain, gilt-bronze mounted clocks, and silver objects indicate that established attributions and royal-court associations continue to drive competition at the upper end of the segment. Artcurial’s department has scheduled its next sale for June.
