Getty Center to Close for One Year Starting March 2027 for Campus Modernization and Sustainability Upgrades
The Getty Center in Los Angeles will close to the public from March 15, 2027, until spring 2028 to undergo a series of modernization initiatives including HVAC upgrades and gallery reinstallations. During the closure, the Getty Villa will remain open and feature a dedicated gallery of paintings relocated from the Center's collection. The J. Paul Getty Trust also plans to open a temporary programming space on Sepulveda Boulevard and has acquired property in Westwood for scholar housing.
