The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) has announced 'Giant Arc,' a major site-specific installation by artist Jacob Hashimoto opening August 22, 2026. The work will feature over 75,000 hand-built bamboo and paper kites suspended in the museum’s admission-free Roberts Family Gallery. Curated by Joseph Becker, the project represents the largest installation of Hashimoto’s 30-year career and will incorporate patterns inspired by the Bay Area environment.
