The Uffizi Galleries has opened a new installation of ancient Greco-Roman busts in the Ponte Vecchio section of the Vasari Corridor. The collection includes 50 sculptures depicting figures such as Cicero, Augustus, and Hadrian, which were removed from public display in 1993. This project, led by Director Simone Verde under the 'Future in the Ancient' initiative, restores works acquired in the 18th century by former deputy director Luigi Lanzi.

  • People: Simone Verde, Luigi Lanzi, Cicero, Augustus, Antoninus Pius, Faustina, Sabina, Hadrian
  • Museums: Uffizi Galleries, Capitoline Museums
