June 16, 2026. Wakehurst in Sussex will present four iconic Henry Moore sculptures alongside new commissions from contemporary artists starting in summer 2026. The exhibition runs on view until 23 May 2027. Paloma Varga Weisz will show three sculptures never exhibited before in the UK, while Rana Begum and Rafael Pérez Evans present newly commissioned works. The project is organised in partnership with the Henry Moore Foundation and the Leeds-based Henry Moore Institute.

The Signal

The exhibition places historical sculpture in direct conversation with site-specific contemporary installations at a working botanical research site. Collectors and curators may note how the commissions draw on Wakehurst’s Nature Unlocked programme to address stewardship themes, potentially strengthening the artists’ institutional profiles through this long-term outdoor presentation. Such partnerships illustrate a continuing trend of aligning sculpture programmes with scientific and environmental contexts.
